King Act Home "This may well be mankind’s last chance to choose between chaos or community.”

We the People of the United States of America
Mandate President Obama and Congress to immediately implement
The Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Act for Monetary Reform
 and the Citizen's Dividend
.
(The King Act)

The Citizen's Dividend
is the policy declaring every citizen a shareholder in the nation and requiring the U.S. Department of Treasury to disburse equal tax free dividends to every citizen annually.  The initial automatic payment is proposed at a conservative $17,000 to each adult and health insurance/education subsidies to every child.

Monetary Reform requires the U.S. Congress to repeal the Federal Reserve Act, abolish all fractional reserve banking or other private money creation schemes, authorize the U.S. Treasury to repossess U.S. assets held by the Federal Reserve Banks and retire the debt. The restored money creation utility will be used to inject new currency into the economy only through the Citizen's Dividend.

The King Act bypasses both bankers and government

by distributing the nations operating capital directly to the citizenry.

Right now the currency needed to operate our economy is injected into the marketplace through loans at interest. This money is not cash on deposit as many presume but created out of thin air through fractional reserve banking laws. Historically this operating capital has also been introduced into the economy by funding public projects like the Revolution and Civil War.  Neither bankers or politicians can be trusted with this currency creation power, indiviual Americans can decide best how the funds are spent into the marketplace.

For 99 years the Federal Reserve Banks have had authority over American currency without public oversight. The Fed is privately owned by the richest people on earth. The bankers use their license to create money to enrich themselves by indebting all who need money to conduct their affairs; individuals, corporations, even the U.S. Government. Article 1, Section 8 of the US Constitution mandates that only Congress is authorized to "coin money and regulate the value thereof."  U.S. Money belongs to the U.S. people and must be reclaimed before the banker's greed destroys us all.

This Mandate is inspired by Dr. King's last message to us, which is truer today then 1967 when it was published in Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?. The King Act institutes Dr. King's recommendations to save our country. Read "Where We Are Going".

“I believe today that there is a need for all people of good will to come together with a massive act of Conscience”

DISCUSSION

Monetary reform is declaring an end to perpetual serfdom of the middle class and finally abolishing poverty. U.S. Money has worth because U.S. Law enforces it as legal tender and so belongs to the citizenry. The American people must assume ownership of U.S. Currency.  The King Act simply and elegantly makes our economy democratic and safe from elite manipulations.  Read Money creation and 21st century economics.

Dr. King's plan is bold, but entirely practical and essential.  If conventional partisan strategies are adhered to, America's rapidly advancing mechanization will render many more citizens unproductive.  The King Act is urgently necessary! Dr. King's testimonial presents the most significant political initiative of our time and the salvation of America. Read Robotization means unemployment is inevitable.

The Federal Reserve Act is unconstitutional and indecent. US currency is being used to enrich the richest and unduly influence politics. Whoever controls the money, controls society. Read How the Fed Usurped America's Wealth.

A bill before Congress proposes abolishing the Fed. The money creation utility is intended to fund government and New Deal type projects. The King Act differs by directly capitalizing the citizenry. Read About HR2990.

Dr. King studied widely and thought deeply before formulating an opinion. Some of the factors conspiring to increase unemployment and poverty that Dr. King refers to are described by C.H. Douglas in Social Credit and other works. These factors establish the justification and necessity for the Citizen's Dividend. The entire population has an equitable stake in the prosperity of their nation. Thomas Paine reasoned that all people have an inalienable right to a share in the common wealth of their country. Read Cultural inheritance and the right to life.

Many prominent people have endorsed citizen dividends. Read Names.

This website is the humble beginnings of a momentous movement that will transform our society into the compassionate and confident country we all desire. Spread the word, network, rally, whatever you can to make The King Act a reality.  Please consider contributing to the promotion of this campaign.  We are opposing immense wealth and power so every penny we collect will add to the momentum of this action and preserve our security.  We, the people of the United States of America, will determine if we succeed in creating our common dream of a society with liberty and justice for all.
